Mama and her four kittens were rescued in August of 2005 after being abandoned by their owner in the hottest days of summer. Mama was bone-thin but still dutifully nursing her kittens, and thanks to her valiant efforts, her three-month-old kittens were fat and sassy when rescued. Incidentally, young Mama had already delivered three litters by the time she was rescued in 2005. Her previous litter was delivered on the roof of her owner’s home and by the time she could get back up to the last kitty to bring it down, it had died from the heat. This precious orange tabby is one brave little girl and SO worthy of the name “Mama.” Happy anniversary, Sweetie! I’m SO happy I decided to keep you – ALL of you!
Well, big Max has decided to come down for a workout on the tower and believe me, he puts our handiwork to the test!
Indulge me now while we take a little trip down memory lane . . . Max and Mollie were our very first kittens (well, cats ever for that matter), rescued in the winter/early spring of 2002 from the rafters of our garage at only 7 days of age. Raised on a bottle with a ridiculous amount of attention, they are more human than feline. As you know, Mollie lives to play dress up and lie around on her back grooming, while Max is all boy . . . well, that is, if you forgive his suckling on my ear for the past four years!
